The Full Armor of God: The Breastplate of Righteousness

To be righteous is to act in an upright, moral way or to be virtuous. Paul attributes these characteristics with the breastplate in the full armor of God. This is very interesting because righteousness is a quality that is only observable through the actions of someone yet the breastplate was very front and center and very important to the Roman soldier.
