Why Make it Harder Than it Has to be?

I have a tendency towards making things harder than they have to be, much to my own detriment. The task will always get completed but sometimes it is much more tiring (physically or mentally) than it has to be. I make it too hard on myself, contrary to what Scripture teaches.

Can We Learn From Old Testament Law?

When people turn to Scripture to see what guidance we can get in a certain situation people will typically go to the New Testament to see what Jesus and/or the apostles have to say. Some will say that the Old Testament holds little value for us today but if that is true why did Paul tell Timothy that:

Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.
